An Epic Book Review by an Epic Teen!
I'm Cindy, a student at NHMS, and here's a review of "The Rise of Kyoshi" by F.C. Yee!
If you didn't watch the series first then you need to see that to understand who the avatar is and how to better understand the story. Also the series is SO GOOD! Well anyways. . .
The beginning might be confusing but once you make progress into the story it gets better. If you read the blurb you would know that Yun is titled as the avatar, the world's protector, the master of all four elements!!! (Oooh Aaah!, Reader you are supposed to make that sound epic). But if you read the title, have seen the show, or someone spoiled it for you, you would know that Kyoshi is the Avatar. Honestly it's kinda annoying that while reading the beginning you already know that Kyoshi is the avatar, but that's kinda inevitable.
Since I need to say positive parts about the story because it was actually a really good book, I'll talk about how the story had a lot of unexpected events. (What? I know that's literally what every novel has but whatever.) I feel like I should and shouldn't sound like the quotes on the backs of books but whatever:

Anyways you should read it because it's really good and if you really are an ATLA fan you must PROVE ITTT!!! (The epicness reading. Again please!) Here's how: Read the comics after the series and the chronicle (I have no idea what that means) of avatar books which go in this order:
1. THE RISE OF KYOSHI BY F.C. YEE!!!
2. SHADOW OF KYOSHI BY F.C. YEE!!!
3. THE DAWN OF YANGCHEN BY F.C. YEE!!!
(Why are the YangChen books before the Kyoshi ones?)
4. THE LEGACY OF YANGCHEN BY F.C. YEE!!!
5. THE RECKONING OF ROKU BY RANDY RIBAY!!!
6. I hear the next one is coming out in 2025! THE AWAKENING OF ROKU!!!
