Chocolate Chip Cookies

I don’t know about you, but my favorite cookie is just a simple chocolate chip cookie. I’ve been wanting to have some good cookies for a while now, and I hope this recipe will satisfy all of your cookie cravings.

Ingredients:

  • 1 stick butter (½ cup)
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 ½ cups all purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips

First Steps:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, and melt the butter in the microwave (It should be melted, but not necessarily hot).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the sugars and melted butter, and beat with an electric mixer, stand mixer or a wooden spoon until combined.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract and beat until incorporated, but make sure not to over-mix here.

Dry Ingredients:

  1. In a separate, smaller bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Whisk this until combined.
  2. Add the flour mixture into the larger bowl, and mix until combined in a large ball of dough.
  3. Add the chocolate chips, and mix with your hands if the dough is too thick for the mixer.

Baking:

  1. Place parchment paper on a cookie sheet or grease the cookie sheet, and then roll the dough into between 10-12 equal balls depending on the size of cookies you want.
  2. When the oven is preheated, place the cookies in for around 10 minutes, and take them out after the time. They might not look done, but after letting them rest for around a half hour out of the oven, they will finish their cooking.

Final Words:

Well done! You have successfully made (in my opinion) some of the best chocolate chip cookies you will have. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I hope you enjoy your cookies!
