Flavors Of The World

Food is essential to every person on Earth, yet people seem to know so little about food. Food has a very long history that has spanned all of human development and truly it is interesting. Here is a very popular dish from each continent (besides Antarctica):

Africa

Jollof Rice is one of the most widespread dishes in all of Africa, especially Western Africa. It includes rice, tomatoes, chilis, onions, spices, and sometimes meat, fish, or vegetables.

Asia

Noodles are very popular in Asia, though there are several distinct types. Ramen is common in Japan, pho is popular in Vietnam, and pad Thai is prevalent in Thailand.

Europe

Pizza originated in Italy and is the pizza capital of the world. Europe is unarguably the most influential continent in Western food culture, especially with pizza being a world renowned favorite.

North America

Burgers are very popular in the United States and Canada largely because of their customization possibilities, so anybody can choose their favorite toppings.

South America

Ceviche, which is a dish made with raw fish, citrus and other seasonings, is very popular in South America. It is especially common in Peru, where it originates from.

Oceania

Pavlova is a meringue dessert with a crisp crust that is beloved in Australia and New Zealand. Weirdly, it was named after a Russian ballerina.
