Interesting place names in the US

Many of us like to travel, but have you ever considered some of the weirdest places you have been to, specifically the name? Well today I will teach you about some of the most interesting names of towns and places in the US, but you might also find that you want to go to one of these places someday.

No Name, CO.:

To start off I'd like to talk about one of the funniest town names in the USA in my opinion. One of the most interesting in my opinion is No Name, Colorado. At first glance you might think that this town just doesn't have a name or something, but the name of this town is literally "No Name." I think that would be pretty funny actually, because they would have the no-name high school, no name library, and more play on words like these.

Lake Webster, MA.:

At first glance Lake Webster in Massachusetts might just seem like a normal Lake. But that is until somebody tells you about the original native name for the lake, which is Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg. This name is quite a mouthful but it translates to either ‘ Lake divided by Islands’  or ‘you fish on your side, I'll fish on my side, and no one shall fish in the middle.’ Despite the long name of the lake, it's actually a very nice place to live in my opinion. It has seven islands, and some of them have homes, electricity, and even plumbing or fire hydrants.

Conclusion

I hope you enjoyed this display of funny names, and my challenge to you is to try to pronounce Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg. Have fun trying to do this, and maybe you'll even visit the lake someday.
