Keeping Up the Beginning of the School Year "Euphoria"

Whether you are in middle or high school, you most likely went into this year looking to get good grades. This is pretty easy at the beginning of the year, but a few weeks in the assignment may start to pile up. Most people may have had great grades for the first couple weeks of school that are starting to slip, but don’t let that happen to you! Here's the best ways to keep up good grades even after the first couple weeks of school.

Classwork

The work you do in class is the most important to your grade so you can practice the content while you have all the resources you need available to you, including your teacher. I recommend finishing as much of the classwork as you can during the class block so you can finish it entirely or have less to complete before the next class. Typically, any classwork you don't finish is due by the start of the next class so it is important to get it done. Also, don’t feel like class is over 10 minutes before it really is. So many people do this, just going on their phone for the last 5-10 minutes of class instead of finishing their classwork, so just do as much work as you can during your class blocks.

Homework

Some people don't do any of their homework. Don't be one of those people. Homework is just meant to be additional practice so you can do well on quizzes, tests, or be ready for pop quizzes. Some people don’t have much time to do homework outside of school, so for those people it is important to get as much work done during class and/or during a study hall block if you have one. And if you do have time outside of school, don't waste it. I would just get it done right when you get home from school so you don't forget about it later on and potentially risk not getting enough sleep just to finish your work.
